Sake + Shochu Talk

The Kamenoko tawashi is one of the most ubiquitous household cleaning tools in Japan. Invented in 1907, these durable handmade scrub brushes are used to clean pots and pans, kitchen sinks, bathtubs, floors, dirty boots, or anything else that can use a heavy-duty scrubbing.

Use this slender shaped tawashi, made with white and brown palm fibers, to get into mugs and glasses. This tawashi is named "half hard" because the white bristles are stiffer and harder than the standard brown tawashi bristles. Use the white bristles for extra stubborn stains and spots.
