A classic sake glass to be put in a masu for traditional overpouring. You can also use for tasters of your more precious spirits, or as a beer glass. Versatile and exquisite.
The Kikatsu series features a traditional technique for cutting glass by hand by the name of Edo Kiriko. This technique typically has featured long-held traditional design patterns that harken back to renaissance-like Edo period in which artisans and merchants were at the forefront of Japanese culture, but designer Shizuyo Saegusa has since infused these designs with more modern artistic elements.
Even though these glasses are mouth-blown and cut entirely by hand, note that each glass is almost identical in size and position of pattern; each glass is finished lovingly and with a razor thin margin of error. Due to this uncompromising quality control, the only glasses which make it to market are the ones deemed satisfactory to the artisan.
