Mother's Day

Tenugui from this series exhibit scenes from master Ukiyo-e print artist Kunioyoshi Utagawa, who had a penchant for depicting animals in traditional settings. Some even attribute kawaii culture as emerging in part due to early artistic depictions of cute animals like this.

This tenugui features sketches from series printed in 1839-1842 in which goldfish are waving fans and pushing a raft in a river.

This quick-drying towel is woven in Kyoto and printed, color-by-color, for an off-set look. Hang it on your wall for decoration or use in your kitchen and to dry dishes and hands.

Check out our Cats, Blowfish + Octopus Tenugui, also by Utagawa.
