Pop the top, pour a dram, and take a whiff... machigainaku Ichiro da! The unmistakable signature nose of apricot, almond, and passionfruit gives away the maker of this highly limited and special whisky. Where we've dealt with some truly turbo-fueled expressions with new whisky releases, this one is all about subtlety. Mellow, contemplative, and very adult, get notes of cinnamon, sweet malt, blueberry pancakes, and star anise on the palate.

Ichiro Akuto founded Chichibu distillery in 2008 and has become a leader in whisky-making world-wide. Located in the forests of Saitama (Kayoko’s birthplace!), Chichibu makes their whiskies in small batches using locally grown barley.
