Made by WTO certified Kuma shochu (rice shochu made in Kumamoto prefecture) distiller Tsutsumi Shuzo, this Junmai sake based bermutto aka "vermouth" is a delectable take on a classic European vermouth. With the additional botanicals of sansho, yuzu, kabosu (green winter citrus), and yomogi (Japanese mugwort), the bouquet is highly aromatic. We get bergamot and black tea on the nose and the palate. Sound familiar? This is like essence of Earl Grey with a touch of fresh grassiness and a bit of ginger, all with the ever-satisfying mouthfeel of a classic fruity junmai sake.
