“Rihaku” is named after the Chinese poet Li Po, who lived from 701-762 and was known to drink sake before writing poetry. The texture is viscous but not syrup; and tasting notes include delicious rice with plum accents. Don’t be shy when pairing with spicy foods; drink chilled with curry, spicy barbeque, and pad thai – all stellar companions.
Travel tip: If you are ever in Chengdu, I recommend visiting Li Po’s serene garden!
