Gumi Gift

We love these classic Yukihira pots – chefs in Japan use them for making their tare (sauces), and Kayoko uses hers religiously for making instant ramen, boiling vegetables, and steaming dumplings.

With a hammered design that helps with keeping incredible heat insulation, this aluminum pot will boil water in minutes, and keep it boiling for a long while even after the heat is turned off. Japanese chefs have used aluminum pots for hundreds of years for their efficient heat conductivity.

A spout on each side is convenient for pouring dashi and soups into serving bowls.

Is cooking with aluminum safe? Cooks Illustrated says it is indeed safe, but using with acidic foods should be avoided.
