Mars The Y.A. Bakemono # 7 "Umashika" Single Cask Japanese Whisky (BTL 700ml)

The seventh release from Mars Yakushima Aging in the Bakemono series! A blend of single malts from the Tsunuki and Komagatake distilleries aged in a warmer climate. Notes BBQ sauce, orange juice, toffee, and mango on the nose. The palate has deeper smoke, acidic fresh squeezed orange juice, iodine, and grilled fruit for a lingering salty sweet finish.

The yokai that graces its label is Umashika, a jovial and somewhat ridiculous spirit who's name is often written in kanji as "baka" meaning idiot or stupid. This one-eyed horse spirit was thought to make travelers who crossed its path behave child-like or irreverently foolish.
