Furoshiki from this series exhibit scenes from master Ukiyo-e print artist Kunioyoshi Utagawa, who had a penchant for depicting animals in traditional settings. Some even attribute kawaii culture as emerging in part due to early artistic depictions of cute animals like this.

This furoshiki features a scene from a c.1847 woodblock piece that suggests feline counterparts for the 53 stations on the Tokaido Train Line connecting Tokyo and Kobe.

This quick-drying towel is woven in Kyoto and printed, color-by-color, for an off-set look. Hang it on your wall for decoration or use in your kitchen and to dry dishes and hands.

Check out our Cats, Blowfish + Octopus Tenugui also by Utagawa.
