Umami Mart is proud to be a retailer of Hawaiian Shochu Company's products and a venue for their mainland debuts. After featuring Nami Hana in Shochu Gumi, we occasionally can get our hands on other products from HSC's distillery floor, and this is one of those times!
Of this bottle, toji Ken Hirata says:
BANZAI Strength “Hawaiian Citrus” is our limited production. As you know, every batch of BANZAI Strength is totally different. We modify the distillation process and make higher proof shochu for BANZAI Strength. The uniqueness of this batch of BANZAI strength is that we used the citrus fruits and vanilla beans all grown in Hawaii. After aging in a MIZUNARA (Japanese oak) barrel, I infused citrus fruits including jabong (pomelo), orange, lime, and calamansi in the barrel aged shochu. When it is fully infused, I added vanilla bean extract which was also made from our shochu. You can taste the pleasant bitterness from the Hawaii grown citrus fruits while enjoying the sweet aroma from local vanilla beans.
Get notes of vanilla cream and lemon peel in this newest 2024 release of Banzai. Grassy and vegetal, this is a perfect bottle for any tequila lover – and the gold leaf design of the label evokes a bottle of añejo.
