Ichiro's Malt Chichibu U.S. 2025 Edition Single Malt Japanese Whisky (BTL 700ml)
2025 U.S. release from world famous distillery Chichibu is here! This batch focuses on beer cask finishes and the whisky is aged for 5 to 9 years in a total of 16 barrels including, but not limited to, Ex-bourbon, ex- IPA beer, and ex-stout beer barrels. Lightly peated and oh so tropical. Notes of juicy red grapefruit, orange marmalade, pineapple, sea salt, and dried hops on the nose. The Palate is thick and viscous, with those grapefruit and salted pineapple note full tilt to start. After adding a few drops of water we get notes of mango, honey and orange peel standing out. Year after year the folks at Chichibu dress to impress.
ABOUT THE LABEL
The 2025 U.S. Edition Chichibu single malt continues the imaginative imagery of its previous two vintages with the inclusion of Mark Twain enjoying a glass of Ichiro’s Malt. The iconic writer and humorist is often referred to as “The Father of Modern American Literature.” Twain, born Samuel Langhorne Clemens, took his pen name from the steamboat term meaning “two fathoms deep” – the safe water operating depth of 12 feet. Among Twain’s most famous works is the book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which is often referred to as the great American novel. Outspokenly anti-imperialist in his late age, Twain was a vocal critic of oppression in all its forms and supported the abolition of slavery as well as the women’s suffrage movement.
