Sake and Shochu Gumi

These mugs were originally made for the American market in the 1960s, but never made it stateside. For over 50 years, they were stored in the small city of Toki in Gifu Prefecture. It was fate that we met the owner of Kenzan Ceramics when visiting Toki City, who told us about these forgotten mugs that his father made.

These American-sized mugs exhibit traditional Japanese glazing techniques and subtle color combinations that are earthy and retro at the same time. They are lead-free and dishwasher safe.
