Sake Quiz: Find Your Sake Match

Yoko went to Tottori Prefecture last month and she brought back lots of goodies to share with everyone! During her time in Tottori, she visited Chiyomusubi Brewery, Touda Shuzo, and Nakagawa Shuzo. In addition to trying sakes using the prefecture's famed Goriki rice, she also tried and brought back a few standout namas.

After Tottori, she visited Umami Mart alum Ian Rittmaster in Osaka, who now works at Kadoya, a sake and shochu shop. We asked him to choose a bottle just for this event, so there will be a bonus bottle aside from the Tottori-centric lineup.

Yoko brought only one bottle from each brewery, so these are super limited! We'll also be bringing in some sakes onto our shelves from these breweries so you can keep the party going.

Limited, Japan-only namazakes available by the glass during the event:

Chiyomusubi Hatsushibori Muroka Nama Genshu Junmai Ginjo Sake
Just pressed this season, this lively brew is made with Yamada Nishiki polished down to 55%

Inaba Tsuru Junmai Ginjo 50 Goriki Muroka Nama Genshu Sake
This limited edition nama is released in the winter. Dry and captures the boldness of Goriki rice. From Nakagawa Shuzo, who resurrected Goriki rice.

Chiyomusubi Junmai Kimoto Goriki 60 Sake
Only two bottles remained at the brewery as they make this only once a year. Savory, powerful.

19 Year Old’s Junmai Sake
This sake is made by Hata Shuzo in Shiga Prefecture, with the help of 19 year olds in the community. It is the first sake they drink as they turn 20, the drinking age in Japan. Umami Mart alum, Ian Rittmaster who now lives in Osaka picked this bottle for us especially for this night.

Hama no Imota Imo Shochu
Solid and highly aromatic sweet potato shochu from Chiyomusubi. Excellent on-the-rocks or oyuwari.
