Holiday Gift Guide

Maui has been in our hearts and minds since the fateful fires began on August 8th. Thousands of people have been displaced, thousands of buildings have been burned down, and over a thousand people are still missing as the death toll rises above 100.Β

We were shocked to find out that our bartender Tomo Johnson's father and stepmother's home and studio had been destroyed in Lahaina. While we are all relieved that they are safe (the kitties too!), we want to help the Johnsons how we can.

So we quickly stepped into action and Tomo created a tiki-inspired cocktail called The Banyan, after one of the oldest banyan trees in the world on the main street in Lahaina (the tree is injured but still standing!). Made withΒ Nami Hana Batch #20 Maui Blend Sweet Potato Shochu (using potatoes grown on Maui), house-made macadamia orgeat, sweet onion syrup, and soda, the cocktail's silhouette is a swift and elegant hula-dancer with a coconut dusted-leis on its head.

Through Sunday, September 17th, $10 towards every Banyan Cocktail served at our bar will go toward's Tomo's family's Go Fund Me campaign, as with each bottle sold of the limited Nami Hana Shochu. Let's help the Johnsons reach their goal to get them back on their feet! And by all means, please consider donating to their campaign directly if you can do so.Β

See ya at our bar!
