6" Takasaki Red Daruma
Takasaki City in Gunma Prefecture began making daruma almost 200 years ago. In the early 1900s there were nearly 40 daruma makers in the region. Famous for its round shape and meticulously painted faces, these daruma bring good luck and positivity. The rich history of daruma makers culminated into the formation of the Gunma Daruma Doll Manufacturer's Collective. The collective is made up of local daruma makers, and they currently produce 900,000 daruma a year!
The Daruma's purpose is to encourage its owner when achieving a goal – whether it's finding a new home, looking towards graduation, or opening a new business. Fill in left eye with a paint brush or marker when you set a goal, and fill in the right eye when you achieve that goal.
Daruma also make great gifts for friends and family around you who are looking towards a future milestone in their lives. Help them commemorate their achievements with a Daruma.
Position daruma throughout your home to help with a healthy and happy feng shui in your living space.
