We still remember when Kayanoya revolutionized our kitchens, showing us that dashi packs didn't have to contain a bunch of long, difficult to pronounce ingredients to taste good. This original dashi pack is made with roasted flying ish (ago), herring (urume iwashi), dried kelp, and dried skipjack flakes (katsuobushi).

Dashi is the basis of Japanese cooking. From miso soup, to hot pot bases and ohitashi, dashi is crucial. When you start with a delicious dashi, the rest will fall into place!

Try using this dashi in our own recipes including Ponzu-Dashi Udon and Cozy Donabe. Or use it as a seasoning, as you would furikake, for an extra umami punch.
