Sake and Shochu Gumi

Simple is best! Famous Japanese designer Makoto Koizumi brings his love for function and simplicity with this hefty iron kettle. Weighing in at six pounds, this kettle is made of rust-resistant solid cast iron with a wooden handle on top of the lid to protect your hands when the kettle gets hot. The handle is made to perfectly fit into the kettle itself for storage. Its cast iron make ensures it heats up evenly and maintains its internal temperature for a very long time.

This kettle is made using traditional methods dating back to the 17th century.

Born in 1960 in Tokyo, Japan, Makoto Koizui has devoted his life to designing a wide breadth of objects with functionality and simplicity at its core, from architecture to chopstick rests. He never says much about the designs he creates, but instead lets his objects speak for themselves. Like we said, simple is best!
