Sake and Shochu Gumi

Named for its Coffey stills in the Migagikyo distillery, this is made with mostly corn, akin to American Bourbon, producing a whisky with rich notes of toffee, apples, and dried hay. We love this for an Old-Fashioned!

Nikka was founded in Hokkaido in 1934 after Masataka Taketsuru spent time in Scotland to learn the art of making whisky. Migakigyo distillery is Nikka’s second distillery in Sendai built in 1969.
