Made by Yoshitani Woodworks in Nara, these coasters are use an age-old technique of scoring along the edges of the wood and bending them into functional shapes. We visited Yoshitani in March 2023 and were impressed by their commitment to craft.
These coasters are can also be used as a tray for accessories, keys, and small tools, thanks to the raised border. They come in a set of two, one with a checkered pattern and the other with the asanoha (hemp) pattern.
