Sake and Shochu Gumi

We are thrilled to welcome back Mayuko Kita of Kita Shuzo in Shiga Prefecture for a special sake tasting at our bar! We first met Kita several years ago and visited her brewery in 2019 to help make koji – we also hosted her at Umami Mart right before the pandemic and last year we released the Umami Mart Junmai, brewed by Kita Shuzo. 

Our flagship sake uses koji that is propagated for a long time, which gives it a signature umami, while finishing dry. We can't wait to have Kita here to talk more about how Umami Mart Junmai was made! 

As an added bonus, Kita will be pouring an exclusive sake, brought on just for the event!
