Sake and Shochu Gumi

We found this vintage Iwaki Pyrex Carafe at a warehouse of an importer who got their start in the 1970s. Iwaki, a company renowned for its heatproof glassware, makes this carafe with a retro geometric pattern on the sides and the handy little green grip.

This is a perfect container for heating up dashi, milk, or sake. It'll be the a kitchen tool you wondered how you did without! It's microwave safe and heat resistant, but not to be used on a direct flame.

Now, we don't usually endorse heating up sake in a microwave, we do prefer the hot water bath method. But if you're in a pinch, use this retro glass carafe – it's Yoko approved!
