Shochu All Day Pack

The Shochu All Day Pack was meant for you, wherever you may fall in this group. This is a tight three-pack of staff and customer favorites, spanning three prominent shochu styles and hitting just about all of colors of the flavor wheel without breaking the bank.
Here's what we've got for you:
Akarui Nouson Akaimo Jikomi Sweet Potato Shochu
A more layered, complex take on classic imo (sweet potato) shochu, made from Ayamurasaki purple sweet potato and black koji. On the nose we get fresh blueberry, maple, and powdered sugar, while the palate turns thick yet subtly sweet, with notes of pineapple cake, black pepper, and a clean, mineral-rich kokuto (black sugar) finish. Our favorite way to enjoy this one is sodawari (shochu and club soda), which brightens the fruit into something like a not-too-sweet fruit seltzer - though rocks or mizuwari (cut with ice and water) are terrific too.
Made from kokuto (black sugar) and rice koji and vacuum distilled, this shochu is then aged for three months by the onkyo jukusei (acoustic aging) method, mellowing in a cellar with classical music playing in the background. The result is smooth with a round aroma and a slight, gentle sweetness that's especially good on the rocks - close your eyes and it's a little like lying on the beaches of Amami Island.
Naka Naka Barley Shochu
This is a favorite at our bar served sodawari (shochu and club soda); this style wins it fast fans daily, including those new to and experienced with shochu. You can also drink it oyuwari style mixed with hot water to enhance the cocoa, caramel, and honey-butter aromas.
