Te Aprecio: Beth, The Knockout
The Knockout. You may be familiar with this bar if you're a fan of Barry Jenkins, as it made a cameo in 2008's Medicine For Melancholy. Or perhaps you've attended such dance parties such as Oldies Night, Booty Basement, or Smithfits.
Meet Beth. Longtime friend and my favorite advocate for San Francisco. Join her on Tuesday evenings at The Knockout for the happiest of hours and you'll be set for the rest of the week. Stay past 8 p.m. and you'll be the first to arrive for the evening's programing. Become a regular and you just may qualify for her portrait series: Knockout Portraits. Beth is an incredible photographer. I love this bar. I love this bartender.
My favorite drink at The Knockout is a Regular Paul, which is tequila + club soda + lots of Peychaud's bitters. Depending on the political climate, Beth has been known to offer drink specials with layers of red, white, or blue liquors. Be bold.
