It's a special treat for us to be able to host Sakqueso! every year – it's such a fun event! This year marked the fourth annual Sakqueso!, where we pair the month's Sake Gumi bottles with cheese. 

This was the very first Sakqueso! hosted by us at our bar! All previous events had been at other Oakland restaurants since we could not serve sake at our old location. We opened our new shop with a bar so we could host events just like these. We are beyond thrilled to be able to hold sake events inside Umami Mart!

We tasted all four Sake Gumi sakes at our event – for Sake Gumi members only and sold out! Yoko paired each sake with a special cheese:
