Sake and Shochu Gumi

As Yoko and I are putting together our events calendar for the year, we are so excited to include our 2nd annual JAPAN BEER FEST during SF Beer Week. Once again, we'll be collaborating with our awesome neighbors The Trappist, who will be providing over 15 beers on tap and bottled. If you remember the insane madness from last year (hint, Pastramen), you'll know to expect some hard-to-find beers from Japan, and good times all around.

For this edition, we've invited Abura-ya to come help celebrate, who will be serving up some of the best Japanese-style fried chicken on the west coast. For real! Adachi started his pop-up in downtown Oakland six months ago and continues to bring incredible pub food to the masses. His menu for this event will include four variations of his fried chicken -- two of which use Umami Mart spices: the famed Umami Salt, and the Japanese Curry. Don't worry, there will be sides of Wasabi Slaw to soothe your veg cravings.

The Trappist is still trying to round-up as many Japanese beers as possible, but here's a snapshot of what to expect:
